April 3-6 RI Home Show Introduces New Energy Expo

PROVIDENCE, RI – The four-day RI Home Show, organized by the RI Builders Association (RIBA) and considerably one of the best in the country, starts today at the Rhode Island Convention Center! The four-day home show kicks off with an opening ceremony today at 2:30pm. In attendance will be Treasurer Gina Raimondo, Mayor Angel Taveras, Mayor Allan Fung, and Ken Block.

The RI Home Show, 64 years and counting, is the largest and longest running exhibition of its kind in Southern New England. It is also considered to be one of thebest in the country. “This year’s attendees will enjoy many new and inspiring attractions,” said RIBA Executive Director John Marcantonio.

New Energy Expo

For the first time in the RI Home Show’s history, attendees will have an opportunity to explore the new Energy Expo. Sponsored by National Grid and the RI Energy Efficiency Resource Management Council, the Energy Expo offers RI Home Show patrons access to:

  • Free seminars on home energy assessment, home energy reports, solar-powered homes, alternative home heating options, alternative fuel vehicles, and National Grid’s School Fundraiser program
  • Free demonstrations on high-tech thermostats, air-tightness testing, and DIY pipe insulation
  • Information about energy-saving products and services from 100 energy efficiency vendors
  • Kids’ Energy Corner, a fun and imagination-provoking space where children can learn about energy 
  • A chance to win a $5,000 Energy Home Makeover

Additionally, U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse and Energy Commissioner Marion S. Gold will recognize RIEnergy Leaders at the Energy Expo section of the RI Home Show on April from10:00-11:00am.

Boston Red Sox World Series Trophies at the Energy Expo

Furthermore, the RI Home Show will give Red Sox nation reason to cheer the evening before the team’s home opener. On April 3 from 7:30 – 9:00pm, attendees will have the chance to have their picture taken alongside the Boston Red Sox World Series trophies, which will be located in the Energy Expo section.

Tickets are available at the door: Adults: $10 / Seniors: $8  (free admission for children 15 and under).

  • Friday, April 4 (3pm–9pm)
  • Saturday, April 5 (10am–9pm)
  • Sunday, April 6 (10am–5pm)
