Angie Hicks, founder of Angie’s List® Will Headline in Washington, D.C. During National Small Business Week

WASHINGTON, DC – National Small Business Week 2013 will feature business industry leader Angie Hicks, the founder of Angie’s List®, who will take part in an arm chair forum with U.S. Small Business Administrator Karen Mills. This year’s National Small Business Week events will be June 17-21, and will take place across the country featuring events designed to help small businesses start, grow and succeed.

Online registration for National Small Business Week opens today to take part in all the essential forums discussing the small business landscape, business coaching services, matchmaking events as well as networking opportunities and award ceremonies.

Interested small business owners, business groups, and other aspiring entrepreneurs can now register for National Small Business Week online at www.sba.gov/smallbusinessweek. Small businesses that attend will interact with small business experts, federal government officials, representatives from national businesses and local elected leaders.

The locations and dates for National Small Business Week are:

  • Seattle – June 17
  • Dallas – June 18
  • St. Louis – June 19
  • Pittsburgh – June 20
  • Washington, D.C. – June 20 – 21

The week’s events culminate in Washington where the 2013 National Small Business Person of the Year will be announced. Candidates from all 50 states and territories will be competing for the award.  The public can register for each day’s events before 12:00 p.m. EDT Wednesday, June 12.

In addition to the in-person events, National Small Business Week will also feature daily online forums that will focus on subjects such as Social Media 101 and Access to Capital.  All events will be live-streamed on SBA’s website, www.sba.gov/smallbusinessweek.
