| Sep 19, 2013
PROVIDENCE, RI — Amos House announces its upcoming urban farm to table dinner fundraiser at the Steel Yard on September 28th, 2013 with special guest, chef, author, and TV host Dave Lieberman. The evening will feature an elegant multi-course farm dinner experience showcasing a seasonal menu using farm-fresh produce.
Enjoy an evening under the stars as More Than A Meal Catering, a division of Amos House Works, prepares unforgettable gourmet dishes to delight every palate. Each course will spotlight seasonal fall produce, sustainable meat, and freshly caught seafood from local farmers and will be served with wine and beer pairings.
Prior to dinner, there will be a VIP reception at 5:30 p.m. with a special workshop from Pasture to Plate. They’ll show you how additions from the farmer’s market can elevate classic cocktails to the next level. Learn how to use fine spirits and fresh ingredients to create cocktails for every occasion. Then have a chance to sample these tasty libations and snack on raw bar and appetizers fresh from the farm.
Special guest and MC for the evening, Dave Lieberman, has published three cookbooks, including the New York Times Bestseller The 10 Things You Need to Eat: And More than 100 Easy and Delicious Ways to Prepare Them. Dave was the host of Food Network’s Good Deal with Dave Lieberman as well as Dave Does. He also hosted In Search of Real Food, a food-related travel series for Yahoo! and Farm to Fork, a food-related travel series for PBS. Lieberman is contributing editor for Saveur magazine and has contributed to Women’s Health, Oprah magazine, and many other publications. Dave’s health-based work from his last cookbook led him to become increasingly dedicated to addressing disease through diet and he is currently pursuing a medical degree. “Amos House is an incredible organization that impacts so many lives,” said Lieberman. “The work they do, and the difference they make, is a perfect illustration of how truly transformative wholesome food can be beyond simply the nutrition it provides.”
