Thursday Night Summer Concert Series Among the Vines to Kick Off on June 4

LITTLE COMPTON, RI – Music for the soul that enlivens the senses and the mind will drive the second annual Summer Concert Series presented by the ALEX AND ANI company at CAROLYN’S SAKONNET VINEYARD every Thursday evening this summer, beginning June 4th and running through September 10, 2015.

“ALEX AND ANI is proud to present our concert series at CAROLYN’S SAKONNET VINEYARD featuring Sunday Jazz and Thursday night live bands. We at ALEX AND ANI value making beautiful moments and memories, and love to share these amazingly talented musicians with our community,” stated Nicki Maher, SVP of Community Engagement & Partnerships. “We are honored to continue our annual concert series at this award winning winery, CAROLYN’S SAKONNET VINEYARD as they celebrate their fortieth fruitful year, in Little Compton, RI.”

The lineup for June and July is as follows:

June 4Blue Light Bandits: A dynamic soul driven alt pop band currently releasing their new 7 song EP. The BLB Demo whose title is a playful misnomer since it’s a full produced set capturing their dynamic multi-faceted sound.

June 11Mad Satta: A future-soul band based in New York and compromised of eight members who strive to bring original, positive, eclectic and thoughtful music to a wide array of listeners. Mad Satta serves its audiences with playful, energetic performances of original compositions and unique covers that honor some of the greats, such as Curtis Mayfield and Amy Winehouse.

June 18Jetty: Features vocalist Yeugene Barokha, who croons over breezy pop jams. Jetty claimed an underdog semifinal win at Fatt Squirrel.

June 25Amy & The Engine:  An indie pop-rock band from Boston, features South Portland, Maine vocalist Amy Allen, who has released two solo EP, made it onto season two of The Voice and enrolled at Berklee College of Music, where she met the bandmates for Amy & The Engine.  Amy is releasing her six-track EP later this year, and the band’s first single “Last Forever” came out on Valentine’s Day 2015.

July 9Wild Adriatic: Touring out of Saratota Springs, NY, the band played 175 live dates in 10 countries in 2014 and is on track to match that in 2015. The music is high energy, riffy-rock and soul music.

July 23Jocelyn Arndt: Simply put, Jocelyn Arndt is a devastatingly powerful performer.  Her combination of voice, emotion, and raw intensity, connects with her audience in a manner that is truly organic, personal and deeply real.  Co-writing with her brother and guitar player Chris, the duo along with their band, combine an imploring style with elements of blues, indie-rock, and jazz to create music that is worlds beyond ordinary.

July 30Jesse Dee: An R & B singer from Boston, Jesse Dee has played as the opening act for Gospel/R&B soul legends Al Green and Etta James, and maintains a steady US touring schedule. His current album is entitled On My Mind / In My Heart.

The concerts begin at 6pm and last until 9pm. Parking is $10 and concert goers can also experience the summer farm-to-fork menu at Carolyn’s Café, located on the vineyard grounds. Additional acts for August and September will be announced at a later date.
