The Savory Grape Warms the Hearts of Many This Holiday Season by Donating Coats to Those In Need

EAST GREENWICH, RI –  The Savory Grape, Rhode Island’s premier wine shop, proudly rallied support for the Rhode Island Coalition Against Domestic Violence (RICADV) at their holiday open house last week by encouraging attendees to donate new or slightly used coats to local survivors and their families. Thirty-five coats were collected and recently delivered to RICADV.

“Our hearts go out to those affected by domestic violence, knowing that the holiday season must be a particularly difficult time for them and their young ones,” stated Jessica Granatiero, proprietor of The Savory Grape. “We are overwhelmed with gratitude to our customers and other guests who embraced the holiday spirit of giving, allowing us to make this gracious donation.”

The Rhode Island Coalition Against Domestic Violence is an organization that coordinates and supports six member agencies dedicated to ending domestic violence. They strive to create justice for victims and create awareness on the issue of domestic violence in Rhode Island.

“It’s the little things that make a big impact for victims seeking shelter from abuse—hot meals, safe beds to sleep in, and warm coats for their families all make a difference in the lives of survivors” stated Deborah DeBare, executive director of RICADV. “We are extremely grateful for the donation of winter coats that will be distributed to the residents of the six local domestic violence agencies this holiday season. Each act of support, brings them one step closer to safety and one step farther away from abuse.”

The Savory Grape and sister company, The Savory Affair, will continue to support the RICADV in the future and hope to organize an even larger donation campaign in the Spring.
