The Office of Secretary of State A. Ralph Mollis to Offer Invaluable Resources to Entrepreneurs and Small Businesses at Expo

PROVIDENCE, RI – Secretary of State A. Ralph Mollis has announced that the 8th annual We Mean Business expo will be on Wednesday, September 3rd, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Rhode Island Convention Center. Parking is FREE.
Entrepreneurs and small business owners will have the unique opportunity to sit down face-to-face with government officials who regulate businesses here in the state of Rhode Island, to get expert guidance. Business owners will receive FREE advice on critical business topics, including licensing, permitting, financing, marketing, social media, and other business-related matters.
“I have made it my personal and professional mission, as Secretary of State, to help entrepreneurs and small business owners turn their vision into a reality,” said Secretary Mollis. “Today, through our e-commerce tools, we have made it easier for existing and prospective businesses to interact with our office. Allowing business to flourish in a business-friendly environment will always be my goal, because it creates a better quality of life for all Rhode Island families.”
Again this year, the “Smart Start” room, a new and popular attraction of the We Mean Business expo, will be available to the public. The “Smart Start” room will have attorneys and accountants on-hand to speak with businesses and entrepreneurs interested in learning more about how to properly manage and grow their business. The “Smart Start” clinic is perfect for new business owners looking to learn more about filings, patents, trademarks, tax documentation and Federal Identification Numbers.
Among the state agencies that will participate in this year’s expo are the Rhode Island Contractors Board, Department of Transportation, and the Department of Labor and Training.
There will also be a variety of workshops offered, including a “Linkedin for Business” workshop by Gil Lantini of the Rhode Island Small Business Journal.
