The Lady Project Connects, Inspires & Showcases Awesome Women Doing Amazing Things

PROVIDENCE, RI – Tickets are live for the Second Annual Lady Project Summit on Saturday, April 12 at the Southside Cultural Center, 393 Broad Street, Providence. Visit www.ladyprojectsummit.com for more information.

This event is geared to inspire, connect and showcase women/female identifying and includes:

  • A Summit Kick-Off Party on Friday, April 11 at Madewell at Providence Place (7-9 p.m.)
  • The day-long conference on April 12 (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.) includes inspiring keynotes, a powerhouse media panel, nontraditional workshops and networking opportunities.
  • The After Party (6:15-8p.m.) includes a Bluecube photo booth, Milestone Wines, a signature performance by Chifferobe and other special surprises.

Keynotes include Michelle Kwan, Olympian and State Department advisor and envoy, Tammy Tibbetts, founder and president of She’s the First, and Meredith Walker, co-creator of Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls. The Media Panel is being moderated by Audrey McClelland, co-founder of Moms Generation. Panelists include: Jenna Goudreau of Business Insider, Taylor Trudon of HuffPost Teen at Huffington Post, Rebekah Epstein, Entrepreneur contributor, Debbie Stoller of BUST Magazine and Ashley Erling of The Rhode Show.

Attendees sign up for four rounds of workshops, being led by the likes of author Jennifer Tress, TED Speaker Hannah Brencher, Margo Rowder from the Television Academy, Carly Heitlinger of College Prepster, Mackenzie Horan of Design Darling and more. The special Lightning Round consists of three, 15-minute classes, including a craft beer tasting by Girls Pint Out, tips on a million dollar meal in minutes and on a budget by Amy McCoy, of Poor Girl Gourmet and more.

Between workshops attendees can get fresh head shots at a special discounted price at the Brister Photo headshot station. Summit attendees also receive a tote bag designed by Featherweight Printing and packed with goodies from Lady Project sponsors, fans and friends.

The Lady Project was co-founded in 2011 by Sierra Barter, one of Providence Monthly’s “10 To Watch in 2014,” and Julie Sygiel of Dear Kate. The Lady Project is a collective of women who come together to connect, inspire and showcase women doing awesome things, through events, membership and community engagement. The first chapter, PVD Lady Project, launched in 2012 and has over 250 members in the RI area. The second chapter, HVN Lady Project launched in New Haven in October 2013; and BOS Lady Project kicked-off in Boston in January 2014.
