NEW BEDFORD, MA  The New Bedford and Fall River Area Chambers of Commerce are hosting a meeting of the SouthCoast Electric Power Group (SCEPG), a collaboration of over thirty large users of electricity in the New Bedford and Fall River area, on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at White’s of Westport, 66 State Road, Westport, MA. The meeting will recap the group’s combined savings for the past year and update members on electricity contracts and activity for 2015. In addition, representatives from our energy supplier, Con Edison Solutions, will also be available to answer questions.

The purpose of the SouthCoast Electric Power Group is to help manufacturers and other large users aggregate (combine) electric loads and contract for the purchase of electric power from providers. Members of the group are able to negotiate lower costs for electricity. Members of the SCEPG aggregation collectively have saved over $14 million in electricity costs since 2006.
