Solarize Rhode Island Round Two to Launch in Tiverton and Little Compton

TIVERTON, RI – Governor Gina M. Raimondo and United States Senator Sheldon Whitehouse will join with other state and local officials for the launch of Solarize Tiverton and Little Compton. This is the second round of the Solarize Rhode Island pilot. The first round took place in North Smithfield and was completed in December 2014, with 84 homes and small businesses committing to go solar for a total of 623.7 kW of power.

Solarize Rhode Island is a municipal-based program aimed at reducing the costs of installing small-scale solar.  Each town has selected a single solar installer for the program. This launch event will announce the selected installer and formally launch the program in both towns.  The program is a partnership managed by Commerce RI, the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources (OER), and non-profit marketing firm SmartPower.
