Scouting Urban Outreach Award to be Presented to Dupuis Oil

NARRAGANSETT, RI – The Narragansett Council, Boy Scouts of America will host the 2014 Scouting Urban Outreach Service Award Luncheon on Wednesday, November 5th at the Providence Marriott. As part of the luncheon program, an award is presented each year to a local business that has demonstrated strong values and community service through their work with youth in our communities.

The Boy Scouts of America’s ScoutReach Program is a youth leadership development program which serves nearly 1,300 urban, low-income and at-risk children in Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts. The program provides adult mentoring, financial aid for attending summer camp, uniforms and handbooks, and an in-depth program of Scouting activities and community service.

This year’s award will be presented to Dupuis Oil for their commitment to youth advocacy and civic service.  Dupuis Oil is a full service oil company that provides residents of Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts with quality energy products.

“Dupuis Oil’s dedication to helping the children in our urban areas to become involved in positive programs is truly inspiring,” said John Mosby, Scout Executive/CEO of the Narragansett Council, Boy Scouts of America. “In a business climate where it’s all too tempting to focus only on bottom-line profits, Dupuis Oil is an exceptional local company that makes the time to build a better future for our children through educational and developmental programs.”

Tickets for the event directly support the ScoutReach Program throughout local urban neighborhoods for our at-risk youth.

The reception begins at 11:30 a.m., with the luncheon and presentation beginning at noon.  For further information, e-mail:josorio@bsamail.org
