Rhode Island Technology Company Kicks-Off a Season of Charitable Giving With a Blood Drive on October 2nd

WARWICK, RI – Brave River Solutions (BRS) is kicking off another season of charitable contributions, beginning with a blood drive for the Rhode Island Blood Center on Thursday, October 2nd from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 875 Centerville Road in Warwick, RI. The blood drive is open to the public, and local residents are encouraged to stop by and donate blood.

Throughout 2014, the Rhode Island Blood Center is celebrating 35 years of supplying Rhode Island hospitals and patients with lifesaving blood components. Brave River has been a longtime supporter of the RIBC, hosting blood drives for the organization since 2007.

In addition to the blood drive, BRS is set to support the United Way through a 2-week employee donation campaign in late October, as well as run their 6th annual holiday food drive for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank throughout November.

“In previous years, we’ve been able to support the Rhode Island Community Food Bank with over 200 lbs. of non-perishable food items through our autumn food drive, and our blood drives have provided enough blood to save 24 lives through the Rhode Island Blood Center. This year, we’re looking to continue our tradition of providing assistance to Rhode Islanders in need through many different charitable organizations,” said Brave River’s President, Ernie Gaines.

These contributions come shortly after BRS participated in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in August, raising awareness for Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (better known as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s Disease) and donating to the ALS Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to treating and curing the disease.

Brave River Solutions has taken an active role in the Rhode Island community with numerous community initiatives since it’s inception in 2000.
