PRESS RELEASE: Twelve Floors Up – Providence Community Library is Going Over The Edge Again!

Providence Community Library (PCL) will partner with Over the Edge and Regency Plaza Apartments for a second year to create Rappel for PCL, a truly memorable fundraising experience that should have pride of place on anyone’s bucket list! Library lovers everywhere have another chance to rappel down the 150- feet-high Regency Plaza Apartments building on Saturday, May 4, to help raise $100,000 for the nine neighborhood locations of Rhode Island’s largest library system.

Potential participants should visit PCL’s website to reserve their spot and create a personal fundraising page that will enable friends, family, and colleagues to donate funds toward their rappelling adventure. No previous experience of climbing or rappelling is necessary. Participating “Edgers” need to raise a minimum of $1,000 for the opportunity to Rappel for PCL but can take advantage of these special incentives:

·         Two people who partner up to rappel together as Fearless Friends and register by March 15 can each take $100 off their minimum fundraising goal

·         The first 20 participants who register and pay the deposit will get a VIP Pass for free entry on the day of their choice at any Rock Spot Climbing location

·         Never rappelled? Then try it for free! Rock Spot Climbing’s experts will show you how to rappel on their 40 feet indoor rock wall at a special Trial Rappel event on March 30, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at their Lincoln location. The Trial Rappel is open to everyone.

·         Businesses/organizations who sponsor a team consisting of 3-6 Fearless Leaders will receive special coverage that shines a spotlight on the organization and its brave team members. More information about all sponsorship opportunities, see the event page, or contact Director of Philanthropy, Michael Bordonaro mbordonaro@provcomlib.org.
