Polaris MEP Announces New Slate of Workshops for RI Manufacturers in 2015: Focus of New and Updated Classes is on Process Innovation and Profitability

PROVIDENCE, RI – Polaris MEP will host a number of new and updated workshops in the first quarter of 2015 to help Rhode Island Manufacturers achieve operational excellence during the new year. Polaris MEP’s project managers draw from decades of experience in the Rhode Island manufacturing environment and now also introduce new project managers added in 2014.
“2014 has been a year of expansion into innovation and growth, supply chain optimization and risk management areas, among others.” said Christian Cowan, Polaris MEP’s Center Director. “Now our breadth of offerings includes this new expertise as well as our core competency of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.”

Events featured in the first quarter of 2015 include “Visual Workplace Organization”, “ISO 9001:2015 Lunch & Learn”, “Lean Overview Lunch & Learn” a newly updated “Value Stream Mapping” and “Compete & Win with Lean” workshop, and others. Rhode Island manufacturers, suppliers and others are able to register for these sessions at http://polarismep.org/events/ .
For the past two decades, Polaris MEP clients have reaped benefits in new sales, retained sales, increased and retained jobs, cost savings and new investment. Their clients represent a number of industries in the Rhode Island manufacturing spectrum including textiles, food and beverage, packaging, metal stamping, jewelry, shipbuilding, composites, tool making, and more. In 2014, Polaris helped 50 Rhode Island manufacturers achieve growth through innovation and process improvement.
“We signed up with Polaris MEP to bring about cultural change but the benefits we got were far different. The successes we achieved are a testament to the power of the tool (Lean) and the people who engaged in the process,” said Michael Akkaoui, President & CEO of Tanury Industries.
