Panera East Greenwich to Host “Raise the Dough” Book Signing Fundraiser to Benefit Local B’s Mobility Ride

EAST GREENWICH, RI — The Panera Bread at East Greenwich Square on 1000 Division Road announces that it is inviting the public to “Raise the Dough” at its Book Signing fundraiser on Tuesday, February 24th from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. to benefit B’s Mobility Ride.  Meet and greet Jenna Blum, a New York Times best selling author and one of Oprah’s Top 30 Women Writers.  For a $20 donation, receive a signed copy of Those Who Save Us or Grand Central featuring her novella, “The Lucky One”.  Customers will also have the chance to meet her almost-famous black lab, Woodrow the Storm Chasing Dog.  A Cookie Decorating Station for families and raffle prizes will also be featured during the evening.

All B’s Mobility Ride donations will go to a local family to help secure a wheelchair accessible van to support the needs of their eight-year-old son, Benjamin, who is battling spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), a type of muscular dystrophy.

“Robin Kall Homonoff, host of the local radio show, ‘Reading With Robin’ is a regular customer of ours and suggested that we have a book signing event with Jenna Blum,” said Tony Ferri, General Manager at Panera East Greenwich. “We knew that Jenna’s work has resonated with book clubs in the area and she has a very strong local following so we are very excited to host the book signing for our customers. Panera is sponsoring the event so all donations will go straight to the B’s cause!”  For a sneak preview of Jenna, tune into the “Reading with Robin” radio show on AM790 live from the East Greenwich Panera Bread next Friday, February 20th at 4:00 p.m.

In addition to holding fundraisers for various local causes, Panera Bread/Howley Bread Group also enjoys a partnership with Feeding America® where all donations collected through its cafes’ ongoing Panera Cares Community Breadbox™ Program go directly to Feeding America member food banks.  This Program gives customers the opportunity to donate money at the register to support the local member food banks’ efforts to provide nutritious food to residents in need.  This partnership is part of Panera Bread’s ongoing effort to combat the problem of hunger in America.  In addition, for years Panera Bread/Howley Bread Group has donated all unsold bread and baked goods each night to local food pantries and other organizations that provide hunger relief through its Day-End Dough-Nation™ program.

Panera Bread/Howley Bread Group owns and operates a total of twenty-eight bakery-cafes in Rhode Island (Cranston, Warwick, East Greenwich, Lincoln, Newport, Providence, Smithfield and Wakefield), Massachusetts (North Attleborough, North Dartmouth, Plainville and Seekonk) and Greater Hartford/Eastern, Connecticut (Bristol, Canton, Enfield, Farmington, Foxwoods, Glastonbury, Groton, Hartford, Lisbon, Manchester (2), Newington, Southington, Waterford, West Hartford and Wethersfield) markets.
