East Greenwich, RI – Dr. Douglas H. Sherman, Senior Vice President and Provost at New England Institute of Technology (NEIT), congratulates 13 New England Tech graduates who received a Wavemaker Fellowship award on behalf of the Governor’s office and the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation.
The Wavemaker Fellowship program was established to attract and retain STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), as well as commercial design graduates who are hired by Rhode Island employers. The Fellowship is a tax credit incentive program designed to defray the cost of student loans for a maximum of four years for those graduates who seek employment in Rhode Island. This program also offers award recipients networking and professional development opportunities.
Almost 400 applications were submitted and evaluated on various criteria, including their pursuit of careers in key advanced industries as well as the impact of the award on the applicants’ decisions to stay and work in Rhode Island. Wavemaker Fellowship awards were granted to 240 outstanding recipients. NEIT is proud to announce the following graduates along with their employers:

NEIT’s mission is to prepare our students with the technical and professional skills required in today’s competitive labor market. They will certainly make a positive contribution to the Rhode Island economy.”
“The Wavemaker Fellowship program is a potent tool to help our state keep more than our fair share of recent STEM and design graduates here in Rhode Island,” said Rhode Island Secretary of Commerce, Stefan Pryor. “Wavemaker Fellows are working in companies and sectors that are key to our state’s economy. We are glad that they have chosen to stay in Rhode Island and we congratulate them on their award.”
