New England Institute of Technology Receives Generous Donation from Balise Auto Group

EAST GREENWICH, RI –  New England Institute of Technology (NEIT) recently held a Dedication Ceremony at its East Greenwich campus in recognition of the many generous donations made by organizations and friends of the university as its recent campus expansion project is now complete.

Special thanks to the Balise Auto Group, headquartered in West Springfield, Massachusetts, for their generous donation of $100,000. Balise is one of the largest retailers of new and used automobiles in New England and employs more than 1000 associates at their facilities in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut.

The “hub” in NEIT’s new Student Center has been named the Balise Auto Hub in the company’s honor. Balise President, James “Jeb” E. Balise, Jr., along with company representatives, attended the naming ceremony.  The hub is central to the new 42,000 sq. ft. Student Center. Its spiral staircase, where the Balise name appears, is in the center of the building and links the first and second floors.

“Balise Auto and NEIT have enjoyed a longstanding partnership, which is why we were happy to support NEIT’s growth and expansion,” stated Balise. “We hope that the new Balise Auto Hub will provide students with a dynamic and welcoming space to socialize and relax in between their classes. We were so pleased to be part of this project and look forward to continued collaboration with NEIT. ”

NEIT President Richard I. Gouse stated, “We have enjoyed a successful working relationship with Balise Auto Group for many years as an employer of our automotive graduates. We are very grateful to Jeb Balise and the Balise Auto Group for their most generous donation and are proud to have their name be forever displayed on the walls of our campus.  The NEIT community is so appreciative of their commitment to the betterment of our university and its students.”
