Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation Foundation Selects Animal Rescue Rhode Island (ARRI) as Top Shelter in RI

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI  Animal Rescue Rhode Island (ARRI), a no-kill animal shelter committed to the humane welfare of animals in need, has been chosen as the 2016 recipient of MuttNation Foundation’s Mutts Across America 50 States/50 Shelters annual award. Founded by Grammy winner Miranda Lambert and her mom, Bev Lambert, MuttNation Foundation’s mission is to end animal cruelty, neglect, and homelessness.

Miranda, Bev and the MuttNation Foundation Board of Directors selected one top shelter in each of the 50 U.S. states to win the $3000 grants. As the RI winner, ARRI was chosen as the Rhode Island shelter exemplifying the fight to end animal suffering. Besides its tireless work to help animals in need, ARRI meets strict criteria in line with the Foundation’s critical values including:

  • High adoption per intake rate
  • High volunteerism
  • Fiscal responsibility
  • Heavily advocating in spay and neuter campaigns
  • Great community presence
