Meeting Street Named the Beneficiary of 4-Week Cumberland Farms Fundraising Campaign as Part of Warwick Grand Opening

PROVIDENCE, R.I. –When the new Cumberland Farms location at 1556 Post Road in Warwick opened its doors on April 1, it became more than just a convenient place for people to shop for gas and other items, it also became a store that wanted to give back to the community. On May 13, the location will do just that when it launches a campaign to raise funds for Meeting Street as part of its Grand Opening Event.

During the Grand Opening Event, which is open to the public, Cumberland Farms will kick-off a four-week fundraising campaign in support of programs for the organization’s students. Through June 10, Cumberland Farms will donate 10 cents from every cup of dispensed beverages sold (hot and iced coffee, fountain soda, frozen Chill Zone, and brewed tea) directly to Meeting Street.  The fundraising campaign is uncapped, so the more beverages that are purchased, the larger the donation to Meeting Street.

“We are thrilled to be the beneficiary of Cumberland Farms’ grand opening fundraiser in Warwick,” said John M. Kelly, President of Meeting Street. “This is a fantastic opportunity to not only develop a meaningful connection with a new community partner, but also to receive funds that will benefit our students—Meeting Street is truly a place where every child thrives.”

On May 13, members of the community are invited to visit the new Cumberland Farms from 4pm to 5pm for its Grand Opening Event and ribbon-cutting. Throughout the hour, Cumberland Farms will offer free dispensed beverages and free hot food samples passed out by the store’s team. Some of items available for sampling include macaroni n’ cheese bites, chicken tenders, calzones, pizza, and select sandwiches. Additionally, members of the Cumberland Farms team will be giving away various items, such as Chill Zone t-shirts, Frisbees, key-chains, and more.
