Mayor-elect Elorza Announces ‘One Providence’ Listening Forums, Launches Transition Website

PROVIDENCE, RI Mayor-elect Jorge Elorza today announced the dates and locations of four public forums designed to engage residents in every corner of the city in the transition process.

The ‘One Providence’ listening forums will also help Elorza Transition Co-chairs Lisa Ranglin, Victor Capellan, and Sally Lapides set priorities for several community-led advisory teams. The forums will be held on the following dates and locations:
Thursday, Nov. 20 6-7:30 pm at Asa Messer Elementary School, 1655 Westminster Street

Monday, Nov. 24 6:30-8:00 pm at Esek Hopkins Middle School, 480 Charles Street*

Tuesday, Nov. 25 6-7:30 pm at Juanita Sanchez Educational Complex, 182 Thurbers Avenue

Monday, Dec. 1 6-7:30 pm at Nathan Bishop Middle School, 101 Sessions Street

“I invite everyone who lives, works, studies, or has a stake in Providence to attend a transition public forum,” Mayor-elect Elorza said. “As Mayor, I am committed to bringing all stakeholders together to find creative solutions that benefit everyone. I look forward to hearing from Providence residents in the weeks to come, and to incorporating their ideas into my administration.”

Mayor-elect Elorza also announced the launch of his transition website, www.transitionpvd.com.

The website serves as a one-stop portal for updated news and information about the transition and enables anyone to volunteer, give feedback, ask a question or submit their resume for consideration to a city position, board, or commission.

The website will continue to grow with new content throughout the transition, and will include the latest updates and news on inaugural ceremonies and activities.
