J & J Materials Corp. Offers Salt/Sand to Residents and Businesses Across Rhode Island, Southeastern Massachusetts, and Cape Cod

REHOBOTH, MA – J & J Materials Corp., a leading landscaping and masonry supplier in New England, alerted customers today that they have an excess of salt and sand to supply residents and businesses across Rhode Island, Southeastern Massachusetts, and Cape Cod.

According to the Salt Institute, geological data shows that salt is essentially a limitless resource and overall mining production has remained relatively stable year-to-year, yet many are seeing a salt shortage across New England. But J & J Materials Corp. is working hard to keep up with the demand.

“J & J exhausts all efforts to provide our loyal customers their necessary supply of salt and sand,” said Derek Gracia, Controller at J & J Materials Corp. “So far this year we have spread over 4,000 tons of salt and over 6,000 tons of salt/sand mix. Since it’s a crucial safety product, we encourage residents and businesses to plan ahead and get in touch with us.”

The American Highway Users Alliance, a non-profit transportation association, says that spreading salt cuts crashes and injuries by close to 90 percent. In its recent report, “Road Salt: A Primer on the Factors Affecting Supply and Demand,” it notes that road salt is a deicer and it melts and facilitates the removal of snow and ice. Sand, an abrasive, increases traction on wintry roads, driveways, and sidewalks.

The entire staff at J & J Materials Corp. is committed to our customers. Please contact our offices for additional information for salting and sanding services in Rehoboth/Seekonk at: 508-336-5365 and Cape Cod/Bourne at: 508-564-4812.
