HEALTH Announces Older Adult Falls Prevention Awareness Week Kick-off Event

PROVIDENCE, RI – On Monday, September 22, the RI Falls Injury Prevention Coalition will host the 5th Annual Falls Prevention Awareness Event: “Strong Today, Falls Free Tomorrow” in the State Room at the Rhode Island State House. State officials and community-based organizations will speak about how falls can be prevented, the resources available, and to celebrate the work being done to reduce the risk of falls for Rhode Island older adults.  Every year one out of three Americans age 65 or older will experience a fall.
