Governor-elect Raimondo to Host Transition Policy Summit

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Governor-elect Gina M. Raimondo today announced that she will be convening a Transition Policy Summit on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 to identify and discuss strategies for creating a stronger economy and rebuilding the middle class. More than 80 Rhode Island thought leaders will be invited to participate.

“Rhode Island is in a jobs crisis and my first priority as governor is to create a plan that will grow jobs,” said Governor-elect Raimondo. “This summit will provide me with an opportunity to get ideas and direct feedback from Rhode Islanders on the front lines of policy, business, labor, social service and innovation. I am excited about the opportunity to tap into this wealth of knowledge and build a plan that will help get Rhode Islanders back to work.”

The Transition Policy Summit will be held on Tuesday, December 16 at the Transition headquarters in Providence. A separate media advisory will be sent in advance for planning purposes.
