Next Generation Strategies for the Future Presented on September 30th.
Sponsored by DiSanto, Priest & Co. and the Rhode Island Manufacturing Renaissance Collaborative, this event will present highlights from The Next Generation Manufacturing Study (NGM). This study surveyed more than 3,000 U.S. companies. The results of the study will be presented by John R. Brandt, internationally recognized expert on manufacturing technology.
The Next Generation Manufacturing Study finds that most U.S. manufacturers are NOT investing in the strategies that could carry their firms into tomorrow. This is worrisome, because to prosper into the next generation, manufacturers must embrace and support six NGM strategies at a world-class level:
• Customer-focused innovation
• Engaged people/human-capital acquisition, development, and retention
• Superior processes/improvement focus
• Supply-chain management and collaboration
• Sustainability
• Global engagement
In addition to highlighting the findings of the survey, attendees will learn about tools to allow them to benchmark their company’s practices and performances related to the six NGM strategies and compare responses to past-year NGM participants, to develop an action agenda for the future.
John R. Brandt, CEO and founder of The MPI Group, is an internationally recognized expert on manufacturing, technology, and how companies can adapt to the realities of new markets, new corporate structures, and new customer expectations. Before founding The MPI Group in 2003, Brandt was publisher and editor-in-chief of Industry Week (IW) magazine, which garnered more than 70 editorial awards for excellence. Brandt also served as president, publisher, and editorial director of the Chief Executive Group (publisher of Chief Executive Magazine.)
