Off the Grid: the electricity plays! is the culminating performance of The Manton Avenue Project’s summer Dialogue program, a playwriting class held at MAP’s Clubhouse in Olneyville. The Dialogue program is unique among our seasonal productions in that our young playwrights act alongside professional artists in plays they have written together. Seven returning playwrights, ranging from 6th to 8th grade, are partnered with adult artists, and together each pair writes and co-stars in a 10 minute play based on a storyline developed by the younger playwright. This year’s Dialogue plays focus on the impact electricity has on our lives and how we can use it more sustainably.

Each performance will feature all seven plays and will take place at AS220’s Empire Black Box space at 95 Empire Street in Providence, on:

Saturday, August 2nd at 2pm and 5pm.
Sunday, August 3rd at 2pm.
Sunday’s performance will be followed by an optional talkback.
Tickets are pay-what-you-can at the door. 50 seats are available to be reserved in advance for each performance on our Eventbrite page; the rest will be held for walk-ins.
All ages are welcome!
