Workshop Overview:

• Learn 5 major phases of project management lifecycle
• Learn 9 major knowledge areas and tools to help ensure project adoption and success

• Understand how to approach building a Work Breakdown Structure and associated decomposition activities and tasks
• Develop and manage active risks to project success using tools to identify and prioritize influence factors
• Learn how to Select and Scope a winning project from the start
• Understand how to organize effective teams of shareholders, team members and experts
• Learn to apply project data using best practices and tools to effectively assess and communicate project status, team member performance and risk areas
• Test your understanding of common project pitfalls and how to manage them.
• Explore Project Phase review tools and techniques to ensure due diligence at all levels of project lifecycle, including when and how to resolve projects

What to Expect:

• This course presents a 4-hour overview of tools and best practices of effective project management. Experiential learning examples will be used to describe and discuss how to bring concepts and ideas discussed to streamline development, reduce rework and motivate teams.
• Participants will learn the basics of project management structures in a classroom setting and discuss how lessons can be applied to challenging situations encountered within organizations.
• Breakout activities designed to simulate real world application and highlight areas of oversight that may develop when appropriate level of detail is not applied to defining and understanding project expectations.

• This workshop is designed for functional decision makers and individuals responsible for team performance. (Executive sponsors, functional managers, subject matter experts, and “do-ers”)
