Elorza Earns Endorsement from Young Democrats of RI and Providence Phoenix

PROVIDENCE, RI –Democratic candidate for Mayor of Providence Jorge Elorza today added two more endorsements to his tally: the Young Democrats of RI and the Providence Phoenix.

“We are pleased to support Jorge Elorza to be the next Mayor of Providence,” said Zack Mezera, PAC Board Chair of the Young Dems. “We believe that he has the integrity, the ideals, and the experience to be the standard bearer for the Democratic Party in this race. He is the right candidate to move Providence forward.”

Meanwhile, the Phoenix staff writes in its new issue on newsstands today, “Jorge Elorza is the smart, fair, tech-savvy, financially literate leader who seems most qualified to usher our city into a new era of prosperity and world-recognized excellence.”

Elorza’s list of endorsements has been growing steadily over the past few weeks. It now includes former primary opponent Brett Smiley, former State Senator and gubernatorial nominee Myrth York, State Senator Gayle Goldin, State Representative Edith Ajello, Ward 13 Councilman Bryan Principe, the Providence Journal, and the RI NOW (National Organization for Women) political action committee.

Jorge Elorza is a candidate in next Tuesday’s Democratic primary.
