Discover Newport Hires New Social Media Coordinator

NEWPORT, RI – Brittany Lauro has been appointed Social Media Coordinator at Discover Newport, the official destination marketing organization for Newport and Bristol Counties. Lauro’s responsibilities will include managing the organizations social media presence on various platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest, while generating content for the online blog, From Stem to Stern. She will also be coordinating the bi-annual event Newport Restaurant Week and other special projects throughout the nine coastal communities.

Lauro, a Newport resident and graduate from Salve Regina University, previously was editorial assistant to Newport Life Magazine where she produced editorial content and managed the publication’s online content and social media presence.

“Brittany’s youthful knowledge of social media combined with her keen sense of the travel and tourism industry and interaction with our nine coastal towns make her the perfect fit for this position,” says Andrea McHugh, Marketing Communications Manager at Discover Newport. “We are delighted to have this talented woman as part of the dynamic Discover Newport team.”
