“Crazy Deals” Ad Campaign Highlights Job Lot’s Summer Seasonal Merchandise

NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. – Spring has sprung in the Northeast and Ocean State Job Lot is ready to help shoppers save on everything they need for this upcoming summer season.

The closeout retailer is launching a new consumer advertising campaign aimed at shoppers at its 112 stores located throughout New England and New York.  Using television, radio, digital and social media ads created by MMB of Boston, Mass., the campaign continues the “Crazy Deals” theme first introduced last year that conveys the humorous, frenetic excitement of finding an overwhelming amount of useful items at incredibly low prices.

“The Ocean State Job Lot shopper is budget-savvy and appreciates the way we help them stretch their hard earned dollar,” states Marc Perlman, CEO of Ocean State Job Lot.  “With over 35 years of experience in closeout retail, Job Lot’s buyers offer our customers branded product at extraordinary prices.  We choose to sacrifice continuity of product offering so we can offer exceptional value.  We refuse, however, to sacrifice on quality.  This makes the Job Lot shopping experience different than that offered by other retailers.”

Supported by print circulars, updated web content and a public relations component, the Ocean State Job Lot integrated marketing campaign aims to humorously convey a smart reason to shop at the stores now.  “Anyone in the Northeast who endured that long, cold winter is looking forward to enjoying as many warm weather outdoors activities as possible.  Whether it’s at their favorite beach spot, by the pool, in their garden or on their backyard patio, we’ve got the stuff they need to enjoy the spring and summer” states Paul Conforti, who is spearheading the campaign for Ocean State Job Lot. “Our new ads showcase many of the seasonal outdoor products consumers may or may not realize they can purchase at our stores. These include gardening tools, Burpee® seeds, beach supplies, pool supplies, picnic and barbeque supplies, and patio furniture; not to mention bigger-ticket branded items such as Blue Rhino® gas grills, Future Beach® kayaks, and EZ-Up® gazebos.  And for those who prefer the cooler confines of their home, we have a great selection of air-conditioners, fans, and other “stay cool” products.”
