About Elizabeth Pierotti

Elizabeth Pierotti, founder of The Inventing Life, has more than thirty years invested in the innovation business. Her professional career began as an inventor of consumer goods for the active lifestyle. Commissioned by CEO’s of Fortune 500 companies and small businesses to develop innovations on their behalf, her creative products have generated more than $100 million in sales at retail.
Early on she began devising ways to generate and transform creative concepts into successful innovations more effectively. As these techniques evolved, they have been shared with thousands of designers, entrepreneurs, and students in workshops, bootcamps, courses, and presentations.
Elizabeth has mentored novice inventors through the concept validation process for the past twenty years using a manageable system she developed to help them advance their ideas step-by-step. For this initiative, she was singled out in 2008 as Rhode Island’s Innovation Champion by the RIEDC and the Providence Business News at their annual Innovation Awards celebration.
She is author of the guide book “The Inventing Life – an inside look at what it takes to turn good ideas into successful products,” and is in the process of publishing a new work,“8 Steps to Successful Inventing.” Excerpted here is one of a series of articles from her upcoming book, “Tips from the Trenches.”
