WEST WARWICK, RI – Whatever You Do. . . Rhode Island™ is the visionary response by ATOM Media Group (AMG) to the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation’s request to create “compelling outreach, design, branding, marketing, and advertising campaigns that rebrand our state and promote it effectively and memorably as a place to visit, live, work, or start a business.”

According to Michael Mota, CEO of Rhode Island-based AMG, “Whatever You Do … Rhode Island™ represents a radical departure from typical campaigns previously undertaken not only here, but in every other state in the union as well.  In the most meaningful way imaginable, this campaign will be made possible not only for Rhode Islanders, but by Rhode Islanders and others.”

The AMG campaign’s theme is eloquently expressed in its five-word slogan, explains Mota.  “Whatever you choose to do, whether it’s enjoying the diverse delights of one of North America’s most treasured coastlines and bays, touring the birthplaces of our country’s religious and political freedoms and the Industrial Revolution, experiencing museums, galleries and unforgettable fine and performing arts venues, dining in world-renowned restaurants, indulging in the sporting life, creating a business, raising and educating a family – whatever you do – you can do it magnificently here in Rhode Island.”

While Mota is proud of what he describes as “AMG’s literary, design, and videography/photography teams’ stunning creative contributions to the campaign,” he is quick to draw attention to the agency’s mold-shattering, equally creative approach to overcoming budgetary restrictions.

“Should AMG win this contract, we will waive all creative and production fees – which likely would be in excess of one million dollars — while donating creative product to the state and earmarking the entire $5 million budget to national media buys,” Mota explains.  “And our process will be one hundred percent transparent.”

But having spent years managing similar efforts, Mota understands that the officially allocated funds are insufficient to tell Rhode Island’s story as it must be told, where it must be told.
“With this reality in mind,” Mota continues, “AMG is proposing a bold initiative, one that we’ve dubbed a ‘People’s Campaign’ and designed to be a significant budget multiplier.  We will ask all stakeholders in Rhode Island’s cultural and economic wellbeing, wherever they may live and work, to support a dedicated Whatever You Do … Rhode Island™ crowd funding initiative.  Their contributions will go directly to support campaign media buys.  Already we’ve received promises of support from local residents and business leaders.”

If awarded, Mota plans to add five jobs to the agency over the next two years. To underscore his agency’s commitment to the success of Whatever You Do … Rhode Island™, Mota added, “We’re going to launch two major elements of the campaign at our own expense and well before the state decides upon the winner or winners of the contract.  That’s because in the final analysis, winning or losing business is beside the point.  I’m talking about a very large, attention-grabbing visual component and a website that will excite, please and make winners of everyone who wants Rhode Island to prosper.”
